TAKE A LOOK BACK

I wanted to be a magician.

My dad had a VHS camcorder. I figured out that if I stood in front of it, had my sister stop recording and step out of the way, then hit record again, I could disappear. Life changing.

Michael is in the photograph.

Everything became a movie.

I spent days making a LEGO stop-motion remake of The Matrix and walked away with exactly 12 seconds of usable footage. (Ben Wyatt anyone?)

GO ON. MOVE THINGS AROUND.GO ON. GIVE THINGS A TAP.

I once set off an M-80 right by my face trying to get a shot worthy of Spielberg. I made an hour-long documentary about my best friend Tim that he definitely didn't ask for. The Lonely Island were my heroes.

Then I did something that changed the course of my life. My friend and I started a video project to get a hug from Taylor Swift.

YES THAT
TAYLOR SWIFT.

We built a following. Put the videos on YouTube. Taylor responded.

She challenged us on YouTube. We were in a video battle with Taylor Swift. Then she surprised us in Auburn, and we got our hugs.

The project led to my first job. I’d been telling stories my whole life. Now I realized I could build a career on…

STORYTELLING

The years that followed took me from an agency to traveling the world making films, leading creative teams, and eventually building a business of my own.

Today, I help people tell their stories because everyone has a story.
